Business How to Start a Business Discovery Customer Segments

If you have a retail store with multiple product categories, which market would you consider it, Mass or Segmented?

The retail operation that you have in general reaches out to the Mass Market, but each category of products such as sporting equiptment, clothing, electronics, etc... would be considered segmented, is it possible to target multiple market types?

I would say its an example of a diversified market as you are serving multiple customer segments but they are unrelated.

If you consider each product category as a customer segment, you see they are quite different and you would require a different approach for each. E.g A pair of shoes and a tv are not really related.

That's what I think anyway, perhaps someone can say otherwise.

Hope this helps! :)

Thank you , that makes perfect sense! =)
