10,849 PointsIllustrator question: Create a stretched circle without flattening it?
I know the title sounds a bit cryptic, but bear with me. I'm a complete newbie in Illustrator, and I was wondering how you'd be able to achieve what the brush tool does by creating a shape that looks like two ellipses joined by a rectangle.
When you just stretch an ellipse you get a result like this, while what I'm trying to achieve looks more like this
Any help is appreciated!

12,466 PointsYou should be able to get that result with either the rounded rectangle tool, or create a normal rectangle and add the Round Corners effect from Effect > Stylize > Round Corners. As long as your brush is applied to the stroke, I think it should work.

For some reason right now I can't make your answer as "best" or upvote it, but once I find out how I'll do that. ;)
