im a non pro user - i see a lecture i fancy that is pro... DO we do short time upgrades? ie 1 week, 30 days?

Right i just paid for a year non pro account. I fancy looking at the pro video on git. it is of course outside my package. but you know non-pro is likely to do me just fine for most of the time.

Is there a way that i can tweak my account up to pro for a short period. Then have it go back to non-pro. ie upgrade for 30 days. Or pay a small charge for 24 hour access to pro.

ON a usability note - i sat looking at the forums wondering how to post. I scrolled down the menu on the right to get to general discussion.

Which then left me with no post area at the bottom for a new post and the ask a question outside the viewing area. I wonder how many people get stuck like i did working out how to post.

If your a monthly user I can't see why you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a pro membership for one month and then downgrade back to a basic account afterwards.

Because someone's monthly budget may not allow for a 2x increase in Treehouse fees, even for a month, seems to be the most obvious, relevant reply to 'I can't see why you wouldn't be able to upgrade to a pro membership for a month.'

I agree with Kevin - I think the ability to buy a short upgrade via Treehouse credits or some such is a value-add for both Treehouse and students.

Cena, I think you have misunderstood what Dean was saying. He wasn't saying he should be able to afford it, just that he can't see why Treehouse would have a problem with him upgrading the package for the month.

I don't know if they allow it but I'd suggest you drop an email to help@teamtreehouse.com. I'm sure they will let you know if it is possible and how you go about it as I don't think you can do it directly on the website.

Treehouse has monthly and yearly subscriptions. If you are on a monthly subscription you are free to change your plan month to month.

I don't know if there are any provisions for paying an upcharge for a month of a Pro subscription while on a yearly basic subscription you can email the folks at help@teamtreehouse.com and they can let you know.

I just paid for a year. One of my clients needs me to use git with the rest of their team. I don't know git yet. yes there is a section on the non-pro. but i like to be able to go in fully armed, so the section on working together which is a pro one, would be absolutely ideal.

So being able to do the non-pro one then do the pro one too would make me very happy, but like i said. today i have already paid for one year :) So how can i access if i wished pro for just one month so i can get this one thing i would like. without doubling my entire yearly fee.

Then who knows a few months down the line I see something else, and think well I want to do that this weekend. Again im in the same situation.

So agree. the ability to temporary upgrade for a short period and of course pay the difference, be it week or a month block would be fine. Otherwise us people who pay a year up front, dont have the ability to access pro without paying for the whole period, where monthly subscribers in theory could.

I don't know git yet.

Check out the Git Basics you currently have access to that.
