not sure what is wrong with this code.
I've been asked to add three properties to the var paris.
But i keep getting a parse error code. please help.

You are quite close! The only thing you need to really do is change your syntax a little!
var paris = {
population:2.211e6,
latitude:'48.8567 N',
longitude:'2.3508 E'
};

Simple explanation of what's going on here:
Properties are written as name:value pairs (name and value separated by a colon). You then separate each property using a comma.
Dave goes over this concept in the first video, The Object Literal.
