ive finished the site its just this little space between the header and the top of the page that i need to fix

Ok, so here is the problem. Because you floated the header, the #wrapper is not touching the top of the body element. So the padding on the #gallery div is pushing everything down. What you need is a clearfix. This is a css concept of putting clear:both on the next element after the one you floated. In this case it would be the #wrapper element.
