<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
  android:layout_width="match_parent"
  android:layout_height="match_parent" >

  <Button
    android:layout_width="wrap_content"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content" // You shouldn't have closing brackets here
    android:text="Ants stretch when they wake up in the morning."
    android:id"@+id/factButton"
    android:textSize=24sp'
    android:layout_conterVertical="true"
    android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"
    android:layout_alighParentStart="true" /> // Put them here

</RelativeLayout>

You've just accidentally misplaced the closing bracket on you tag (/>). Put it after all of your attribute declarations like I've done above and you should be golden. As an aside: if you could include a little more detail in your questions such as error messages or what's going wrong, it would really help every one else understand how to help you better!
