Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Slices sillyCase

I'm not sure why this won't go through

Challenge Task 1 of 1 I need you to create a new function for me.

This one will be named sillycase and it'll take a single string as an argument.

sillycase should return the same string but the first half should be lowercased and the second half should be uppercased.

For example, with the string "Treehouse", sillycase would return "treeHOUSE".

Don't worry about rounding your halves, but remember that indexes should be integers. You'll want to use the int() function or integer division, //.

This is my code......

def sillycase(iterable): half = len(iterable) // 2 first_half = iterable[:half].lower() last_half = iterable[half:].upper() return first_half + last_half

sillycase.py
def sillycase(iterable):
    half = len(iterable) // 2
    first_half = iterable[:half].lower()
    last_half = iterable[half:].upper()
    return first_half + last_half

Hi sjules,

This code passed for me on a copy and paste.

This can happen sometimes with the code challenges (I had it happen 3 or 4 times total in completing the beginner and intermediate Python tracks, so not too often but often enough to be a little frustrating).

You can try hitting the restart button at the top of the challenge and pasting it in fresh, but if that doesn't work you might need to log out of Treehouse, close all your browser windows, then come back and log in and try it again. That always solved it for me (but not before thinking there was something wrong with my code for way too long!).

Cheers,

Eric

Mr. Eric

Sir, thank you so much for your time. I will do everything you nicely told me. Thank you again.
