Take the Console Foundations course. It's in the Development Tools section. You just need to learn a few commands to move around your computer. If you pursue programming you'll need to become comfy with the command line.

This is an old post, but just in case someone has the same issue, when you start a rails server in terminal, it is normal that you just get some output and then you can't see much in that terminal anymore. It is because the server is running from that terminal. If you want to get back to the command prompt in the terminal, you have to stop the server with ctrl c first. Another way around this though is to open your server in a separate terminal window and use your first terminal window for inputting commands to the console.

I can't see what you see. Try the course out.

Rza didn't build the Wu overnight.

Go to the library Watch "Moving around the filesystem."

Master your chamber before you spit darts. I can't help you anymore unless you wire me $50.

if i was spitting darts about ruby than this comment would apply. but im not. im posting a question about basic things i dont know so i can master it. (y)

yeah i do all that. i use cd than type in my file name. than when i type in rails s, some stuff comes up and it doesn't show my directory name anymore for me to continue

i cant get to it without learning to make a website first and thats like 3 hours. im not trying to make a website. im trying to do ruby...and if you know anything about RZA than you know that spreading knowledge and wisdom is what hes about.

so be a 5 percenter and show me wassup

why dont you just tell me them instead of me going to take 3 courses before i take the course youre telling me to take.

Because I don't know where you've put your files.

You'll need to cd into your directory and rails s

im not tryna build it overnight, but im trying to progress every night. simple commands not letting me get to where i wanna get too is bugging me and now i gota go take a course which isnt a bad idea but its gonna take 3 hours just to get to the "console foundation" section when people like you can break it down for me in 5 minutes.
