The instructions say: "Then, in style.css, select the footer ID and apply a 40px top margin."

So,

  • the CSS should select the footer by using the ID instead of the tag name
  • the value of 40px is correct, but it should be applied to the top margin
  • "main-footer" is not a CSS property name
