10,673 PointsInsane Ideas for the New Blog!
Hello fellow Treehousers!
I have some insane ideas for the Treehouse Blog for 2013. I'm really excited about them, but I want to know your insane ideas too. I know you all can collectively do better than I ever could, and your opinion matters very much to me.
What would you all love to see on the blog? What content? What structure? Would you like to see a more magazine style like The Verge? Would you like to see more interviews? Maybe conference coverage? Would you like to have a better video, podcast and reading experience? How would you like to experience the tutorials, etc?
Run with it!
My goal is no shorter than making the Treehouse Blog the best place to go for our industry.
I would be honored by your thoughts:)

Simple blog design, long-form articles, limited graphics.

Firstly although I agree that A list Apart is fantastic, I do feel that sometimes the articles require time setting aside to read as they can be quite long and in depth, which is great but you don't always have the time to read them there and then. I would love to see a mixture of long and short articles maybe with an approx. time to read in the header like boag world does.
Video & Audio
I think it would be good to have a video category so that you can quickly filter by video content and I would love to see a podcast come out maybe with an interview section where you talk to a Treehouse member about what they are learning and what they would like to see.
Tutorials
It would be great to have a section where you set out a mini exercises/tutorials similar to how .net magazine does where they are categorised by skill e.g. javascript/css etc.
Code Reference Area
I know other sites have them but a code reference area where you can look up what a html tag is used for or a CSS3 property that you just can't remember the complete syntax of. Again split out between CSS/HTML/JS
Member Articles
Allow some of the members to submit articles maybe with member interviews (I sent you an email on this).
Just a few of my ideas ;-)

7,360 PointsI think what would be great for Treehouse in general, would be Treehouse Live. It's basically HuffPost Live but with the Treehouse community. You don't have to run 12(hours a day)/5(days a week) like HP does, though. Maybe once a week the Treehouse team has a live web design/development video discussion and members of the community can chime in. That way we all learn together. Just a thought.
