Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsDon't know what you mean by background box? I would suggest move away from Dreamweaver to Sublime (best thing i did). As for making images open larger look at lightbox.js or fancybox.js Also the videos on here will help with performing CSS tasks

675 PointsI've been using textmate... because I'm running on os x 10.5... (ancient)
I have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, I just can't figure out how to do what I want with the box thing. See this link:
I haven't done any tutorials on javascript yet, to be honest I don't know what it is. Do you think I should do some tutes on java first?
Adam Sackfield
Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsYeah I would recommend the beginners Javascript but lightbox is easy to implement, you basically download the files and copy the .js files to your project folder then link them like below
<script src="LOCATION TO FILE"></script>
See lighbox2 demo site and full instructions to set up. Let me know if you get stuck.
BTW What is Javascript, think of a human body.
HTML = Bones (Structure) CSS = Clothes (Style) Javascript/jQuery = Muscles (Movement/Animation)
So basically JS can modify content dynamically and or animate things.

675 PointsThank you so much, you've been so helpful! I went for the fancybox.js. Just following through a demo... will see how I go!

Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsNo problem happy to help. Fancybox is a good choice as it allows for video content too. Good luck!

5,715 PointsHi Adam Sackfield just clicked through to your website not sure if you are aware but Google is throwing up that there is a problem with your site.
Adam Sackfield
Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsYes I am aware, any advice would be welcomed. I have been told that it is due to me using it to demo work for clients that Google has flagged it as spam due to the content changing all the time and this is not good i here.Should have stopped the indexing. Can't seem to find a way to remove that warning. As works fine in all other browsers. As you can see now its a site for a client on there and not my portfolio. Cheers for saying anywya

5,715 PointsDo you have Google Webmaster tools setup for your domain ?
Adam Sackfield
Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsYeah and all is showing fine in their. Even filled out the form on my site for error and asked a few other people to submit error report too and nothing. Cant even speak to Google.

5,715 PointsI used a WordPress Template a few years ago that I had acquired from the incorrect sources and it was full of scripts and links to over 18 websites but this flagged in Google webmaster tools I just removed all of the content and after a couple of weeks it was sorted.
I didn't click though to your website to be honest after the alert but are you using WordPress or anything for your demo site?
Adam Sackfield
Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsAh, so it could sort itself out again. No wordpress on this site just HTML, CSS, PHP and some jQuery for fancybox and a cycle for testimonials. It is only in chrome the warning shows.

5,715 PointsIt sounds like you have done everything you should of maybe its just Google is interperting the content and it does not like the link between the domain name and what is actually on display i'm not sure if it helps but have you tried creating sub folders like http://www.adam-sackfield.co.uk/client-area/demo-site.html you could then sit all your websites in the client-area and the host your own portfolio on the main top level location.
just a thought

5,715 PointsIgnore the domain name :)
Adam Sackfield
Courses Plus Student 19,663 PointsYeah that is what I aim to do, just working on WP version of my portfolio then will upload and move client stuff as you said. But if not fixed in few weeks may buy new name.

5,715 PointsHope you get sorted Adam
