Inside the script tags, write a function that will open an alert dialog with the message 'Warning!'

I have created a function and still getting the same error message. Here what I have do to address the question:

index.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
<script src="scripts.js">
</script>
  <script>
   alert("Warning!");
  </script>
</body>
</html>

once I create the function it tells me: Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer passing. And it makes we go back to the first task. However, the box message does display. below is the function and entire html

<!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <title>JavaScript Basics</title> </head> <body> <script src="scripts.js"></script> <script> alert("Warning!"); </script> </body> </html>

You don't need a script source.

There are two ways to implement javascript into your html.

you can like you have, add a script source and then on a seperate document have all your javascript code.

or basically write all your JS between script tags within your HTML file.

On this exercise because treehouse won't allow you to create another document you'll have to make it inline. so you shouldn't need the script source, but just only the script tags.

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
  <title>JavaScript Basics</title>
</head>
<body>
  <script>
    alert("Warning!");
  </script>
</body>
</html>
