Which version of Xcode should I use to download if I have a MAC OS X 10.6.8? I downloaded one of the latest versions only to find my mac is not compatible.

24,997 PointsGo to Apple Developer and login with your Apple ID. I believe you will want to download version 4.2 or lower.

9,636 PointsOS X 10.6.8 comes with the app store. Open the App store and search for XCode. Your machine will automatically download the compatible version... and the command given in this course will do the same.

9,636 PointsI am curious though.... What type of MAC are you using? i.e. MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, iMac, etc... Also... what year? If you click the Apple in the top left, and "About this Mac" and it will tell you what version you have.
The reason that I ask is that support for 10.6 is not far from becoming non-existent. I have a early 2008 15in MBP 2.5GHz with 4GB of RAM and I'm running El Capitan with ease. I had a bad stick of RAM and even ran it for a full week with only 2GB of ram... granted it was a bit more sluggish.... it still worked fine.
