iOS Camera Problems

Hi everyone,

I am very new to iOS dev and have been racking brain for a while now trying to figure out a problem.

I want to be able to:

1.) Take a picture with the iPhone's camera 2.) Then, overlay an image, say of a hat, on the picture I just took 3.) Save this combined image to my photo album, share it on Facebook, etc...

I'm really sorry, but I have no idea where to even begin.

Thanks for the help.

Haha - I do, Patrick! I use IFTTT to get emails about each iOS or Android post, but it certainly helps to be tagged.

Amit actually wrote a great two-piece article about overlaying an image on the Treehouse Blog. It sounds like exactly what you are looking for. Check it out and see if it applies to what you are trying to accomplish.

Thank you guys very much!

That article is perfect.

If you haven't already take a look at how to use the camera in the new iOS course.

As far as the overlay, I would think you would want to have predefined views with your overlays hiding in the background that get added to your current view controller when needed. I'm sure Ben Jakuben (don't you just love when I keep tagging you, Ben? :-P) would be able to give you much better advice though.
