IOS simulator camera freezing the app, works fine on the actual phone. Anyone know how to fix this ?

When I try and load saved photos on the IOS simulator, the apps freeze trying to access this freeze. There are difficulties even when opening the photos app on the simulator. The apps all run fine on an iPhone. It seems like the simulator is bugged. Anyone know how to fix this? I have already reset all the data and cleared the cache , but it doesn't seem to have done anything. Many thanks
