3,428 PointsiOS Techdegree question
Hi, I'm currently working through the swift 2 iOS dev course. However I feel like the project side of the tech degree will ultimately be more effective for my learning process.
However, I have some questions.
Will I be able to submit projects using swift 3?
I know it takes time, and it seems like they are moving quite quick but will the move from swift 2 content on the techdegree to swift 3 content be fast moving? While I know it wouldn't totally mess me up I don't wanna be practicing in slightly dated code for to long.
Anyone currently in the iOS techdegree and enjoy the added experience? Are the added projects and other features worth the $175 price raise from basic?
Thanks!

Let me try to answer your questions. Fellow students, please feel free to jump in too.
Yes, you will be able to do and submit the projects using Swift 3.
At the moment there are a total of 12 units & projects in the iOS Techdegree program. We are updating the track to Swift 3 roughly at a rate of 1 to 2 units per month, depends on the complexity of the unit and project. Having said that, the benefit of the Treehouse Techdegree classes is that, in addition to covering pure technical details pertained to a particular language or version of a language, we also emphasize on the fundamentals. This way, the students will be equipped with the knowledge and ability to pick up new technologies as things evolve. So if you start the Techdegree now and learn about all the fundamentals that are being taught, you will still be ok even newer Swift versions (or other technologies) come out.
I'll let the other students share their experience for this one. But we at Treehouse believe that going through the portfolio projects and getting the reviews will definitely be a big help with the learning experience. The key here is to be really hands on with real world like projects.
Hope this helps, please feel free to let us know if you have additional questions.
