IPv5

Why are they using IPv6 as the next step? What's wrong with IPv5?

IPv5 was a definition given to an experimental Streaming Protocol that started development sometime in the late-seventies (I think). It was never named IPv5, but still, to avoid any potential confusion, the "powers-that-be" decided to just skip it and call the new Protocol IPv6.

I really don't remember where I read this, but I'm sure Google can provide much more information. :) :dizzy:
