CSS

Is better to use Normalize.css or Reset.css?

Which is considered a better practice?

Hi Soufiane Bdaoui,

You can also take a look at the video I did on CSS resets for CSS Layout Techniques. :)

Normalize.css is superior for a few reasons according to it's author:

  • Normalize.css preserves useful defaults rather than "unstyling" everything.
  • Normalize.css corrects some common bugs that are out of scope for reset.css.
  • Normalize.css doesn't clutter your dev tools.
  • Normalize.css is more modular.
  • Normalize.css has better documentation.

Great answer! thanks!

I believe normalize css is better to use most of the times, but you can use whatever option fits what you want. Both of them can be considered "better" practice but that depends on what you are trying to use it for. You just use what works for you according to the needs of your project. You can read about "What is the difference between Normalize.css and Reset CSS?" from here.

Thank you
