You need to format your console.printf statement just like the challenge asks, so:

console.printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName);

That will take the value of the firstName variable and put it into the string formatter placeholder %s.

Happy coding,

Ken

You have the closing quote in the wrong spot. It needs to look like:

console.printf("%s", firstName);

Ken

the challenge is( Call the printf function on the console object and make it print out "<YOUR NAME> can code in Java!")

I try the steps above and no help!
