Is it a bad idea to have a sneak peak at future courses, will I just confuse myself?

I've been on Treehouse for a few weeks now, but I'm tempted to jump ahead to see what future courses have in store. I'm through the basics of HTML and CSS. But I really want to dive into a few other courses. However, I don't want to overwhelm or confuse myself with new jargon. Should I just follow the course structure or dive about different courses?

Hi Kristian!

It is up to you mainly but I do have some information to share which may be of some use! Firstly, I would recommend that, as far as watching full videos goes and learning, you stick with the track that has been set out by the Treehouse staff. Each of these courses has been specifically ordered and put together so that the user can easily learn about a new topic in a non-confusing and fun way.

However, there is nothing wrong with taking a sneak peak at the future content but I would advise against skipping out full sections of the course or jumping too far ahead for too long!

If you do have any questions that you want answering about the future of the courses and etc then feel free to leave them here for me, or another Treehouse member, to answer!

Hey Luke!

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, I thought about checking out IOS and PHP. But I'll cross that bridge when it comes.

Thanks again!

No problem!

I highly recommend the iOS track it is great! One thing to note, however, is you do need a Mac in order to follow along with the course! I have not done any of the PHP tracks myself really though so I can't tell you much about them!

I have done much of the PHP and really like it. I guess I am more of a back end developer by nature. I have a site I am working on for my son's cub scout pack and it has extensive PHP. I am writing about my experiences with this site also. Plus you end up with some cool sample web sites at the end and a server environment to run PHP and MySQL. I have not done any of the phone app lessons.
