Is it okay to look up HTML that you forgot?

I just completed Nick's HTML form section. It was awesome, and I really learned a ton of information. I have been doing good making websites on my own, only practice sites though. I have made probably at least 25 practice web sites with CSS included. But, with all this "stuff" we have to learn I have a hard time recalling all the information. I find myself looking up things that I forgot/don't remember. Does this type of thing happen to any of you? I'm just nervous that when I get a job I'm going to be looking up different things. There's no way I can remember every detail, especially in Guil's CSS Deep dive section. Do some of you people find yourself looking up how to do something a lot? I do practice a lot too, I'm just nervous I guess and want to be really good at making websites. Thanks in advance for any answers.

In grad school, they say that one of the main characteristics of that level of education is that the students "learn how to learn". No one will ever know everything there is to know about any subject, but those who are higher-level thinkers will "know how to learn." Looking things up that you have forgotten or how to do things demonstrates that you know how to learn, which will be really useful to you and will show that you know what you are doing, even if you don't have specific facts memorized. Therefore, it's a pretty valuable skill. I've also heard the "axiom" that the problem with the world is that those with much intelligence lack confidence, and those who lack intelligence have too much confidence; you seem like the former, so I imagine that you'll do just fine!

Thank you for the kind comment Adam!

Do not worry, that is totally normal. The more practice you put, the more information you will remember. Even in the work environment, I can nearly guarantee that the majority look up information on the internet as they need it. So don't worry and keep up the good work! :)

Thanks Matin. Sometimes I feel so dense between the ears. Thanks for encouragement as well, much appreciated!

I've been working on web stuff for 15+ years. I look up tutorials and documentation daily. Don't worry about looking things up. Worry about the people that don't.

Well said Kenneth ! :)

Thank you for the reply Kenneth.

That is completely normal even for experts. Looking things up is a skill of itself. You will get really good at looking things up and you will know exactly where to find them. I recommend bookmarking them so you can get to them quickly.

Ummm

Let me look that answer up first, and will get back with you. :)

:D

No one could not remember everything. It need time, a lot of practices, and learn on the way. Even though a professional coder still look up for the codes.
