is swift 3 broke?

this line of code will not work:

if temperature > 7 && < 12 { print("might want to wear a scarf with that jacket") }

// I keep getting this fail message "Unary operator cannot be separated from its operand" I get an option to fix it which does this:

if temperature > 7 && <12 { print("might want to wear a scarf with that jacket") }

// for which i also get a fail message " '>' is not a prefix unary operator"

what do I do?

1 Answer

if temperature > 7 && temperature < 12 { print("might want to wear a scarf with that jacket") }

Alternatively you could do:

if 8..<12 ~= temperature {print("might want to wear a scarf with that jacket")}

Thanks David.
