Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types String Formatting

Is this a bug? It keeps giving me a bummer message in the browser even though this works in python.

I’ve also tried the .format option inside the original Treehouse loves string

strings.py
name = "lainy"
subject = 'Treehouse loves {}'
subject.format(name)

1 Answer

You dont want to say subject = 'Treehouse loves {}' You just want to format the name in the {} I.e

name = "lainy"
subject = 'Treehouse loves {}'.format(name)
