Hi Andrew Stelmach

Thanks for posting! I do apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We try to answer Forum posts quickly, and you shouldn’t experience more than a 72 hour delay during our normal open office hours. It looks like my teammate Geoff has been helping you out. I do hope his suggestions helped!

Feel free to email the Support Team at help@teamtreehouse.com at any time. Be sure to link us to your Forum post. We’ll follow up with a Teacher or see if we can’t ping a Moderator who could help you.

Don’t hesitate to email me if you need anything. Thank you for being a member!

Best,

Elizabeth

Hey Andrew Stelmach, I've actually been on leave and haven't had much chance to get to an internet connection to hop on the forums, I was hoping another student or mod would have picked that up. I've replied to your original thread, hopefully that cleared things up and lead you to finding what you're looking for. Cheers!

I suspect it might be because I'd replied to my own post a few times so my thread didn't come up under 'unanswered' in the forums. Might be worth bearing in mind.

Thanks for your latest reply, Geoff. I'll try to get my head around it once I've got my head around the latest tutorial. Ruby on Rails is much harder than html css jquery stuff, but that's part of the appeal.

There's definitely more to wrap your head around with full stack web development but once you've got that under your belt it's amazing what you can accomplish. Good luck!

I'm enjoying the challenge, Geoff. Thanks for the encouragement.

It's definitely important right now for me to get help in 'times of crisis'. That's what happened the other night, after trying for hours to solve the problem myself, I resorted to the forums, and then still no answers, it got pretty desperate. And of course after two more days still no answer. I had to move on in the end but I was bitterly disappointed. Treehouse is supposed to have my back at times like that!

If it happens again I'll use the help@teamtreehouse.com. I'll also not reply to my own posts so much. I tried 'bumping' my thread by posting to it, and still tumbleweeds, which was really disheartening. My last resort was to post this thread, thinking that a new 'unanswered' thread would get noticed by mods/staff. Obviously it worked.

Admittedly I am having a little bit of a moan, but mainly I'm feeding back what happened in the hope that it can be prevented in future.

Thanks again, and I'll get back to you on that thread at some point.

Hey Andrew, another thing worth pointing out--if you ever are stuck on something, it's also a good idea to use the "Ask to Answer" feature. As soon as your question is posted, you should be given a list of 5 or 6 people to request who have been shown to be knowledgeable in whichever topic you're posting in who are also active in the forum. This might get you a bit of a faster response time as well :)

What's this about the time you visited the 9th circle of Rails callback hell, Aimee?

Oh, it was a fun lesson in learning that if you're not careful, you can end up in an endless circle of create and update callbacks on a Rails model :)
