iOS

Is what I'm trying to do possible?

One functionality of a website I am building allows the user to upload, and post photos. I am building the site with ASP.NET, with VB.NET as the back end talking to a MSSQL database. I want to have an iOS app to go along with the site, so a user can upload images from there phone. How I can see this working would be to get the bytes from the iphone image, and send those bytes through a web service and insert them into the corresponding table in SQL. Can you get the byte array of an image in iOS? If so what is the best way to go about getting multiple images from the iphone photo library, and submitting the data in one call to the web service?
