iOS Build a Simple iPhone App (iOS7) Animating and Intercepting Events Intercepting Motion Events

Issues with iOS 6.1

Although everything worked fine for iOS 7.1, I was not able to get the motionBegan and motionEnded events to fire properly in iOS 6.1 (simulator or physical device) until I implemented the following:

  • (BOOL) canBecomeFirstResponder { return YES; } After adding this, everything worked as expected. I imagine others may run into this issue as well, and unless I missed reference to it somewhere, I don't believe it was referenced in the material.
