it always tells me "Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer passing."

But when I go back to task one and check the work it doesn't change anything

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
  private int lapsDriven;

  int lapsDriven = 0;

  public drive(int lapsDriven)
    lapsDriven++;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }
}

You're overdoing work here ! They just ask you to create a field lapsDriven (not to initialise one) and create a method drive they don't ask you parameter or something ! Simplify and it'll be ok !
