Python

I've installed Python 3.4.1 but I'm still getting 2.7.5 on the command line

I downloaded Python 3.4.1 for OSX, installed it, opened Terminal, and typed "Python".

I'm still getting this ...

Python 2.7.5 (default, Mar 9 2014, 22:15:05)
[GCC 4.2.1 Compatible Apple LLVM 5.0 (clang-500.0.68)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

Any idea why it's not running the new version (3.4.1)?

I find it greatly amusing & encouraging that the CEO of Treehouse uses the forums for asking questions! I wish I could have answered as it would have made me feel super smart. :)

Thanks Jeremy! The Treehouse Student Community is awesome. I got an answer in 20 minutes on a Sunday! :)

Instead of typing "Python" you should type "Python3"

Thanks!

Hey! Glad you're doing Python!

But, remember, you can do this all in Workspaces (as if I need to remind you).

You can also alias python to python2 and python3 to python if you really really really want to, but I don't necessarily recommend it.

Thank you sir :) I wanted to be able to do it both in Workspaces and on my local machine, because I'm practicing using GitHub

Check where you installed it to (the path) and then type python3.4 :)
