Python

I've reached a point in Python where it's too hard, tips please!

I'm currently doing the Python track.

I've made it to the 'Python Collections' course so far, and I've gotten around halfway through it.

I'm starting to find things extremely difficult to the point where I have no idea what to do. A lot of the challenges are way too difficult at the moment, it has reached a point where I just grab the answers off forums, because I can't complete it myself.

Is this normal? I've only been learning for about a week. The difficulty ramp is pretty high for me who is a beginner.

Could I please have some tips on how to avoid this frustration? :)

You might enjoy this forum post titled The Wall, and perhaps this episode of The Treehouse Show that features it in a discussion about learning styles.

Thanks for this! It has heaps of great information.

Charles, where do I even begin. I could not agree with you more. I have been in this Techdegree program for Python for 2 months now paying $199/month and I am at the exact same point you are. Python Basic's was hard and Python Collections is extremely hard. Do we just not get it? Does Kenneth Love do a poor job explaining each topic and not explaining each topic thoroughly? I feel like I am being robbed. No one from Treehouse is helping when I ask for help on Python being very difficult to learn from this Techdegree program and courses. I am far from even reaching the first project and am having trouble applying the information from Kenneth Love's videos to the exercises and other items that test our knowledge. Since you posted your concern on January 12th, have you talked to anyone or read anything to might help getting through what you and I are having trouble with?

It's good to know that someone else is in the same position as me.

What I did is I asked Treehouse to reset all my tracks so I could start again. Now I'm religiously taking notes and creating my own mini projects after each section in a track.

I've also forced myself to only do 1 section per track per day, this is so my brain can actually take in the information. So far it's working.

So I think the best thing is to take it slow. Actually study every new track with extreme precision. All the resources are there, you just need to study it.

I hope my findings help you!

Hi Charles. Thanks for the response. I'll try my best!
