17,828 PointsI've studied Swift and Xcode a lot, but I feel like I still can't do anything with it.
I study a lot and watch all these different iOS videos. But I feel like I can't do anything with Xcode & Swift. Xcode & Swift feel so limiting.
Even a simple on focus text field or adding margin to a text field is complex and hard to do.
Maybe I'm just going about this wrong, but is it really that complicated to add a simple on focus event onto all text fields in a view?
Comparing Xcode and Swift to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL. Xcode and Swift are really complicated to do anything.

17,828 Points@lukejones www.flashkase.com is my most notable accomplishment. I'm trying to make an app for that.
@NilsGarland thanks for the words of encouragement! I'm slowly but surely making progress on the app. It is certainly a lot more difficult than I imagined. Especially keeping the app synced with the website.

18,416 PointsJust because I am curious, what back end language did you use for your website?

17,828 PointsHey Jhoan, I'm trying to make an app for my website. www.flashkase.com
Here's a few of the things that I'll need to do.
- Allow users to sign in/create account by Email, Facebook & Google.
- A Library that displays the users flashcards
- A deck editor that allows users to create & edit flashcards.
- A Study area that allows users to study said flashcards.
To make things even more interesting, I need this app to be able to function offline (after the user has downloaded their information) And then once a user connects back to the internet, resync their information with information from my website.
But I'm still struggling with super basic things. Is there any advice you could offer?
Thanks by the way! :)

8,915 PointsHave you started the app yet? What sort of things have you done on your own outside of treehouse?
Nils Garland
18,416 PointsWell, I don't know if you have any prior swift & xcode experiance to what you have done on treehoues but if not. Just stall the project untill you gain a little more knowledge. You said you felt like you can't do anything with it. That's how most developers feel in the begining, just keep learning for a while and sweep back to your project. I'm sure youll ace it.
