JavaScript Introduction to Programming Functions Functions

Jim, I need to start at the lowest level of learning. I took a couple of programming courses in college 40 years ago so.

Is this course too advances for me?

that is the intro to programming course. Its aimed at beginners with no experience so you should be fine. This is pretty much the most basic "programming" course on Treehouse. The HTML and CSS courses would be easier, but that isnt really programming in the general sense of the term (working with variables, functions, etc)

If you want an entry level programming course, I would stick with this one. If you want to start off as basic as possible, follow the Front End Development Track, which includes intro to programming as a course after you get your feet wet with HTML and CSS

Richard, I'm a beginner at this too. I feel like this is a really good introductory course to JavaScript. If you are still feeling a little overwhelmed I suggest just watching the videos a couple of times over and following along. Also don't forget to utilize the pause button as much as possible. If he types or says something you don't quite understand, pause the video and try to figure out how and why he did it. Take as much time as you need!

Hope this helps, good luck my fellow programmer!

I started out learning through an online Harvard course called CS50x: Introduction to Computer Science. If you go to EdX.org you can find the course there, and it's free! Now it might sound intimidating because it's a Harvard Course, but it's designed for someone that doesn't have any programming experience.

Give it a shot, and good luck to ya!

P.S. Not trying to diss on Team Treehouse, you can easily learn the basics here as well!
