Hello Team, So I’m going to be re-engaging in Treehouse this weekend. However, I’m asking the community for some advice on my attempt to enter the tech community in NY by landing an entry level position. Most of the jobs I’ve looked at require a Bachelors or 4yr degree and I’m entering my first year at Full Sail for BS in Web Design and Development in addition to the training at Treehouse. Any suggestions on what specific courses I should be taking, companies like Flat Iron have Data Science classes that I can take on a part time basis: http://flatironschool.com/data-science I googled Entry Level tech jobs in NY and these were some of the results: https://openasset.com/jobs

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated True

195 PointsGo to meetups, don't just submit your resume to jobs online because you'll be one of hundreds applying for the same position. In some cases your resume won't even make it to the HR person to review it because it will be tossed out of the list for not having that "degree" requirement which is BS. Networking is the best way to get a job today and especially if you start contributing to things online. Get on twitter and start following people in the industry. Tweet about what you are learning. Blog. Get some basic business cards or a website and get it to people at meetup events.
Good luck to you! I know the hustle is a lot of work, but it will pay off!
