Andrew Chalkley
Treehouse Guest TeacherjQuery Basics is Here!
jQuery Basics is now live!
In this project you'll learn what jQuery is, why you'd want to use it and most importantly how to use it in your projects.
We'll create:
- An It's a Trap! Notification System
- A Spoiler Revealer
- A Simple Lightbox
- A Mobile Drop Down Menu
- A Simple Sign Up Form
- A Simple Drawing Application
Each project will build your confidence in using jQuery in different settings. We'll introduce more of jQuery's functionality as we move forward through the course.
Here's the course trailer to see the projects in action:
This is the second course from Treehouse that utilizes Workspaces so you can hit "Launch Workspace" next to the videos on each stage and follow along when prompted. If you have any issues be sure to let us know. There shouldn't be any gremlins in the works (we think we've caught them all).
Excited? What are you waiting for? Get to it!
P.S. Feedback, as always, is welcome!

31,225 PointsHas any one else had issues with Chrome when trying to resize the browser window/viewport in order to trigger different media quieries. I even installed the Chrome extension "Resize Window" I'm currently unable to get a width less than 600 plus pixels.
Why is this happening? It's such a stupid thing to get jammed up on....

Andrew Chalkley
Treehouse Guest TeacherNope...Chris Grazioli, maybe you should share your issues (with code) in a new thread so that it doesn't get lost in here :)

39,199 PointsAs Andrew Chalkley alluded in one of the videos, the JQuery Documentation isn't the most reader friendly.
I prefer to use the more searchable http://jqapi.com/ whose tag line is "The faster way to browse the jQuery documentation."
