jQuery : DOM manipulation

Hey everyone ! can anyone tell me please, if there is a way that we can definitly and permanently change the html code with jQuery. to be more specific, for example when you append an element to another, it simply goes away when you reload the page. so is there a way, to make it permanent, even after reloading the page! to make the change in the html document itself, to write into it permanently with jQuery !

thanks guys

There is no way that I am aware of.

I don't think so. Unless you trigger something on the server side that effects the output.

You could use cookies and remove the element from the page again?

have you tried .replaceWith() ?

@Michael Wiss yeah I actually did, but it doesnt do any good :/ !

miguelcastro2 thanks for the sharing !

yeah I found out that it isnt possible, unless if there is a DB cnx or smthg ! Thanks Andrew Chalkley !
