jQuery: if an element is in viewport - do something?

Hey guys! A short one I need answered:

I'm trying to change a class of an element if another element is in the viewport. Can you help me with the jquery syntax?

I think something like:

$('#elementID1').is(":visible").function(){
  $('#elementID2').addClass('new');
}

Doesn't seem to work.

Please help, cheers!

jQuery's :visible selector is meant for selecting things without display: none, visibility: hidden, etc. I believe you'll have to use a plugin to check for visibility within the viewport; this one seems pretty good.
