I used to think I was about average intelligence...until I started learning js. Now I'm starting to feel like the dim bulb in the drawer. Where's the colors and flashing lights man!!!! Lets get back to #ff0 and #f0f, that's what I'm talkin bout.

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 9,816 PointsFor me all this data starts to pile up in my brain and I begin to feel like it's lost data, but when I move on to the next course of the same subject(like JavaScript Basics then on to JavaScript Loops, Arrays and Oblects) all the content from previous class is in my memory and ready to use. That's when I know it's sticking. Make sure you completely understand all the content in one section before moving to the next and it will pay off.

5,576 PointsThis thread made me feel a lot better, haha. As a newbie, it's hard to remember everything, and I'm at that stage where the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. But, it's starting to click, which is good!

1,434 PointsI think its impossible to remember everything. Thats why there are reference guides for these languages. Once you can get a grasp of the logic and know how to break things down to come towards a solution then its a matter of testing. If you worry about taking it all in, you'll stumble and wont take in as much as you'd like. Its not the end of the world if you miss a concept as im sure we all do, and there are plenty of resources on the net to help. Enjoy it and keep moving forward!

21,988 PointsI felt the same way when I started learning Javascript, but if you keep at it, it can be just as rewarding and useful as HTML/CSS. Keep up the good work!

1,434 PointsI hope so! Putting in as much time and effort as possible! Ive wasted lots of time and effort on other online courses so im praying this is the one that sets it all off

5,191 PointsDid you guys do any of the other Team Treehouse courses or languages before starting JavaScript? I went through the entire course for Ruby, but I am finding that the learning curve for programming, in general, is pretty steep.

1,434 PointsDepends on your working position and whats required. Ive done PHP and some jQuery. Next big thing is React.js for wordpress..but in order to learn that Ive to learn Vanilla JS....I was expecting to have to learn something else to learn this, but Im sure another surprise language will pop up somewhere along the line!
