JS Question

I am not sure how to give the return value to the echo variable.

Hey Steven,

As Steven Parker mentioned, for task 2 you're not modifying the function.

But I would like to add that a return statement will exit the function and, therefore, anything after the return statement will never be executed.

The function you created for task 1 should be left as-is when doing task 2.

The code you add for task 2 will be outside the function (though it will use the function).
