I never defined any goals. The goals they're talking about seem to be pretty tiny - like watching two videos. Can I define my own goals? Or can I just turn off this feature?

The goals are relatively small because they are designed with the idea that you won't have a lot of time to devote to studying every single day - there will be days when you have more time, and days when you have less.
It's better to have a small goal that you can meet daily so that you don't skip learning for a day, or days, or give up on coding altogether just because you feel like the goal set is beyond your ability to meet.
I don't believe you're able to turn this feature off, as that would defeat the purpose of having that small daily goal, and you probably can't set your own goals either, because that would also defeat their purpose.
