JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Introducing JavaScript Link to an External Script

Keeps saying Task 1 is no longer working. What do I do?

I follow the instructions, but it keeps saying that the first task is no longer working. I've tried different approaches, but keep getting the same response.

The JavaScript code should not have any HTML tags in it.

You only need the line with the "alert" call.

also after you remove the html tags don't forget to add the semi-colon at the end of the code.

:information_source: Semicolons are optional at the end of a line (but a good practice).
