Laravel. Please sir, can I have some more.

I don't now about you fine folks, but I am am certainly hoping Laravel gets as much attention as Ruby/Rails from Treehouse.

Well, it is the complete package! Laravel, Eloquent, Blade, artisan, composer. I think it may well become the new Rails.

+1. An awesome stepping stone into other frameworks like Zend and Symfony2.

Yea, Zend does seem to pretty popular in the big companies. Laravel is actually built with many Symfony components, looking over the docs it very similar to Laravel. Learning Laravel has a great flow, and it seems like it can be used for any size application, so I think I'll stick with it for long time. :)

+1 from me too. I sure hope Treehouse hears the cries for more Laravel!

I have to admit, I followed the Laravel course just because I forgot to de-activate auto billing on my TreeHouse account.

I was planning to ditch it, as I have followed most of the courses I have planned to.

Laravel course was nice and intriguing, giving me a good symfony alternative to study. as I have found that some stuff can be done in Laravel in fewer lines of code, it really got my attention and my interest.

But... because there's always a but, it seems I'm on my own to acquiring new skills on this framework. even though TreeHouse looks very promising as a service, most probably following October I will be forced to switch to other MOOCs because they bring new content much faster and have a better PHP / PHP Frameworks coverage.

Although this discussion topic is about Laravel, I cannot stop asking myself: why does TreeHouse ignores symfony2 soo much?

Hi Gabi.

I personally like the quality of the content Treehouse provides and how they present it. I find I learn really well from them as far as screen casts go. The quality is why I think it can take awhile, but that being said I am sure Hampton would gladly continue the Laravel series. What other PHP learnig resources do you use? ( I don't think Treehouse should be offended students discussing other resources ) I like to use Jeffrey Ways Laracast, it's great!

Laravel has made such a large impact on the PHP Framework scene I think it was to big to ignore, and Laravel looks to be the easier to learn between Symphony and Laravel. I have read developers are switching back to PHP because of Laravel, so there must be something good about it. I know I enjoy it.
