learning python with treehouse?

Will python be added to treehouse? i see a lot around the web about how python is the easiest and most simple programming language to learn. I have gotten many books already but none that i really enjoyed... i keep wondering why python hasn't been added to the treehouse library? would others like learning python with the treehouse "style" of teaching? any plans for treehouse to include python in the near future? :)

Yup, Very soon

I don't know when Treehouse is planning to start offering a Python course, but this has been suggested on this forum, here here and here

If you want to learn Python now I'd suggest you check out:

  • Start with the Learn Python the Hard Way video course
  • Then work your way through Udacity's CS101 course it uses Python. Udacity uses video-based courses and includes code quizzes similar to Treehouse.
  • Follow up with Codecademy's Python Course for "code challenges" to practice with

James already mentioned Udacity's CS101, and CS253 How to build a web blog over there is also often recommended though more advanced (and less about Python Itself). I actually wish Treehouse would do more of the immediate question/answer engagement that Udacity does.

thanks for both replies guys :) i did hear about "learn python the hard way" but i didn't know they had video courses, thanks a lot for the link! Udacity is new for me tho i will make sure to check it out too.

cheers.

This is a little late but you might also want to check out https://www.edx.org/. I'm currently taking their introduction to CS course which uses python.

The course will actually be added sometime this month, Witch I am very happy about because I was asking the same question a while ago.
