list.remove

how can I remove a list from another list

lists.py
states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]
x = ['red', 'green', 'blue']
states.remove(x)

I have be doing this lots of time ... I think treehouse has a bug.

states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]

states.remove(5)
states.remove(['red', 'green', 'blue'])

I can't make this fail (assuming I remove 5 first like the instructions say).
