Looking for a Partner to Build with.

Hi all! I am looking for a front-end web developer that I can work with to build out my (or our) portfolio more. I know HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (pretty well), some jQuery, and I work with AngularJS pretty frequently at my job.

I don't really have a portfolio, and I would like to work with someone to instill best practices with, and start building stuff. It's hard to find motivation, and I believe having a partner would be more motivating.

We can build web apps, sites, etc.

Any takers? Thanks, Aaron

Hey Aaron,

I might be interested, could you please send me a message on my e-mail address - chabros.matt@gmail.com ?

Regards, Mat

I build with Rails, and I could do with turning one of my sites into a single-page site. This is not my strong point. Thing is, I just don't know if it's possible to collaborate on it, since my site is on Rails.

To convert a server-side based web application/site into a SPA. You would need to create an API of your data, and then provide endpoints to that API, which would allow a SPA built on a framework, such as AngularJS, to access that data and do stuff with through a JSON or XML format. Then you would have to factor in HTML5 APIs such as Local Storage and Session Storage to pass along data between "views" in the framework.

That is my guess when it comes to a conversion, but then again, I do not know too much about server side scripting languages like Rails. I've used PHP before, but not to an advanced extent.

Lost me there mate! But thanks for writing all that lol. I wouldn't go to all that trouble (although I'm sure I'd learn a lot from it). I would need someone to just jump into it in Rails.

Hi Aaron! I'm still fairly new at all of this but I've been studying HTML, CSS, and now JS like mad, and would definitely love to see if I could get involved. I'm eager to work on things as well as take part in the community so send me an email! kaetlynmccafferty@gmail.com

Hi Aaron! I was browsing the forums to find some motivation to get back into coding but with my busy schedule it makes it hard to stay motivated between my 9-5 job and other priorities get in the way my progress and learning has slowed down a bit. I Was wondering if you are still looking for another partner or new ideas that i could help out with or start getting back into coding. I mainly know the front-end development/design aspect down with HTML, CSS, little Javascript and have a pretty good understanding with Bootstrap and basics of Ruby on Rails. I would love to start building a portfolio with a team or small/large group to grow our skills together to start producing top notch Websites for customers.

Let me know if you are interested in letting me join your current team or would like to re-build a web development team depending on your current status,

let me know and please send me an email at awood1035@gmail.com

Thanks! Andrew

Andrew (good name ;-) ) are you building something at the moment? If you are, I would be happy to help you. Let me know if you have any problems (have it on github for easy collaboration)

Andrew, Haha it is a very good name :) i have a couple ideas of sites I want to build but would rather build with a team to collaborate ideas or work through issues with. I have one site that is a photo site for my dads photography side business, i mainly have the basics and front-end done, i just want to code or utilize a member login for his clients and put a admin page in for him so he can drag and drop photos and password protect them along with secure shopping cart and some other ecommerce features. I have another idea which sounds good on paper but not sure if it would work out or cause a bunch of issues. I will try to get the site up on github this week do you have an email or account i can share it with you?? and either add anything or suggest ideas up to you?

let me know, Thanks! Andrew

Hi Andrew, my github is in my profile, and you could send messages through my facebook (also in my profile).

I'm not an expert on this, and by all means do your own googling, but considering you want to put together an e-commerce site, you might want to just plump for Shopify, because doing an e-commerce site yourself is a big undertaking, and Shopify already does it very well!
