Looking for Partner

I am currently looking for a partner to go in with me on a targeted social media website. What I need is a back-end developer that can build the database and other back-end functions plus help with the front-end.

I have the front-end design with some mock-ups of the site but I am running in to the problem of not having a back-end foundation to build on, nor do I have the knowledge to even get started on it on my own.

I have been reading about the different back-ends, php, ruby, and python but at this point the server side of things is still mostly Greek to me.

I know I would prefer a Ruby on rails back-end but php or Python would work too. I have tried installing Ruby on rails on my system to start learning it, following the Ruby on rails lessons here on Treehouse but I can't seem to get it to install properly. I get errors.

Anyway. The project has the potential to be very very lucrative from both advertising revenue and membership subscriptions.

I would need a signed NDA before going into details of the site. I would prefer someone living in Portland, OR as it would make it easier to collaborate on the site.

Thank you, Scott

What actuallly are you going to build? Is it a social networking website?

My suggestion is that you learn som PHP. Building backend and databases is not really that hard with this language. Another suggestion is using solutions like parse.com.
