ls -1(one)?

The video at 2:30 in Console Foundations shows the command ls -1, as in the numerical 1, rather than the letter L. Was that just a mistake or does that actually do something?

ls = [List directory content] is probably the most used command and for good reason. With it, we can see directory contents and determine a variety of important file and directory attributes. By adding -l to ls command, we change the output to the long format.

Wish this helps to clarify the -l (long format).

Hi Philip. The number 1 and a lower-case l can be hard to tell apart. I notice you used the upper-case L when you started this thread. It's the lower-case you want. I hope this helps. :)

I think it was a mistake, because you can hear the teacher saying, "If you use ls -l".
