I have still problem, do I place the date on the creationDate or does it go some where else. Plus any good java book that anyone can recommend? 2015 or newer.

com/example/BlogPost.java
package com.example;

import java.util.Date;

public class BlogPost {
    private String mAuthor;
    private String mTitle;
    private String mBody;
    private String mCategory;
    private Date mCreationDate;

    public BlogPost(String author, String title, String body, String category, Date creationDate) {
      mAuthor = author;
      mTitle = title;
      mBody = body;
      mCategory = category;
      mCreationDate = creationDate;
    }
  public String toString(){
    return "Example" + mAuthor + mTitle + mBody + mCategory + mCreationDate;
  }

    public String getAuthor() {
      return mAuthor;
    }

    public String getTitle() {
      return mTitle;
    }

    public String getBody() {
      return mBody;
    }

    public String getCategory() {
      return mCategory;
    }

    public Date getCreationDate() {
      return mCreationDate;
    }
}

Hi Kevin,

  • To override the method, you'll want to use the override annotation to announce to the compiler your intention to override the method.

  • The task wants the toString method to return a string in the style of "BlogPost: TITLE by AUTHOR" ('title' and 'author' are likely capitalized in the instruction in order to suggest that they are variables.)

    @Override
    public String toString(){
      return "BlogPost: " + mTitle + "by " + mAuthor;
    }

Hope this helps!
