Making a Simple Start MMOG

I have had on my mind for many years the desire to create an MMOG similar in design scope to Mabinogi.

While most MMOG's are a massive undertaking I have a limited scope and design that should help make it a lot easier to build.

With the ease of use that Unity provides how difficult is this to pursue?

Depending on the amount of work required my other plan is too just go ahead and make a metroidvania 2D/2.5D platformer to help build funds and resources to eventually persue the larger, possibly more complex project.
