11,007 PointsManaging resources and bookmarks
Hi,
Ever since I started these dev courses the list of websites I want to save has grown way too large to organize that well using normal bookmarks. Either I need to learn to manage bookmarks well or find a better solution. I even considered making a simple website with bookmark links but that's a lot of updating, too.
Any ideas on good solutions for organizing bookmarks? I'd like to organize things by topic such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Mac, Linux, etc., and even more refined than that down to specific topics so I can find the right resource that I thought was so cool two weeks ago.

There are so many interesting / informative links I've come across here that my bookmarks menu is getting impossible to navigate. I have made folders for major topics (eg. Swift, HTML, JavaScript, Background-Images, Scripts, etc...), but I agree that it is cumbersome.
I like your idea of a simple webpage just for links, and it would be good practice. But, yes, a bit difficult to keep accurately updated.
I look forward to others' suggestions and a nice solution.

11,007 PointsJulie, Evernote on that list looks interesting, and it's cross browser and platform i think. That'd be awesome if it was an everywhere resource organizer. worth a try.

11,007 PointsJulie, I wanted to follow-up to say Evernote's web-clipper browser add-on solved the problem. Thanks.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 11,127 PointsHi Neil,
Maybe use an online tool, such as trello? (trello.com).
It's designed for staying organised when collaborating in groups, but I use it from time to time to keep track of what I have to do, by when, and so on. Also, I use it to keep notes/make links of cool things I've seen and want to remember.
I generally make 'lists' with headings of 'to do', 'doing', and 'done'. Then drag the relevant 'cards' from one list to the other, accordingly. But perhaps you could head your lists 'HTML', 'CSS', etc.
I think it takes a while to find the right habit that suits you and keeps you better organised. Good luck!
All the best,
Ede

11,007 PointsWe use Trello at work and it's awesome. I hadn't considered it for this purpose but I think it might work or it might be overkill. I'd have to test it. In fact, I'll test a few ideas and report back what I find so maybe that'll be useful.
