Python Object-Oriented Python Inheritance Instances

My code seems to work in Workspaces. Not sure what the problem is with this code:

It's very similar to others I've seen posted. What could be wrong, please?
def combiner(myList):
    myNum = 0
    myString = ""
    for i in myList:
        if isinstance(i, int):
            myNum += i
        elif isinstance(i, float):
            myNum += i
        elif isinstance(i, str):
            myString += i
    newVar = myString + (str(myNum))
    return newVar
