iOS Object-Oriented Swift 2.0 Complex Data Structures Adding Instance Methods

My code works in Playground but not here. Why?

I don't know why my code doesn't work here. Even though it's perfectly fine on Xcode?

I have also tried :

func getFullName() -> String { return firstName + " " + lastName }

That doesn't work too. Can someone please tell me what should I do?

structs.swift
struct Person {
    let firstName: String
    let lastName: String
}

func getFullName(firstName: String, lastName: String) -> String {

    return "\(firstName) \(lastName)"

}

Hi there! You're really close here! The problem is that this function is supposed to be declared inside the struct. You've got it created on the outside. Take a look:

struct Person {
    let firstName: String
    let lastName: String

    func getFullName() -> String {
      return "\(firstName) \(lastName)"
    }
}

Because the function is declared inside the struct, firstName and lastName are already available to the function and do not have to be passed in. Your return statement was just fine. Most of this all came down to placement :smiley: I hope this helps! :sparkles:

Thank you it works!
